It is NOT necessary for us to use worldly methods of drama to reach the unsaved!

I shutter to think what the fallout of this will be. A church more open to the influence of the theater? Converts that love the world? Or worse, the favor of God removed because of misuse of His money and influence.

I was disturbed in researching this issue when I came across interviews by the director Jason Satterland. Referring to the demons he said, "there is a reason why they are the way they are" and "they have legitimate arguments against God". As a former satanist I am concerned of his use of Fillipano witchcraft lure to help shape the script.

Finally, this series is being promoted as sci-fi which means "Science Fiction". Fiction is known falsehood. The Great Controversy is being promoted as sci-fi entertainment. This is extremely dangerous.

The only thing Adventist about this film project is the money our church is using to fund it. I respectfully request our honored leaders immediately separate from this worldly enterprise and publicly repudiate the series as associated with Jesus' bride.

It will totally diminish the true story. There is just no way you can re-enact a heavenly event, that took place in heaven itself, and have a real visual and true understanding of the actual event and the power of it. The Record Keeper will just make a mockery of what we believe and know to be true.

I appreciate that my Christian brother has a burden to stop this Hollywood style production of sorts in the name of Jesus. There are many Spirit of Prophecy quotes on the irreverence and inappropriateness of using theatrical performances in our ministry. One of the best is this one: "Ministers (could we not all be in this category if we represent Christ?) have no license to behave in the desk like theatrical performers, assuming attitudes and making expressions merely for effect. They are not actors, but teachers of truth. Undignified, boisterous actions lend no force to the truth uttered; on the contrary, they disgust men and women of calm judgment and right views". – {GW

Here is another one: "Satan does not wish the people to have a knowledge of God; and if he can set in operation games and theatrical performances that will so confuse the senses of the young that human beings will perish in darkness while light shines all about them, he is well pleased". [6] – {AH The only safe type of movie that does not excite the senses and stun the rational mind as sensationalism does are documentaries. My dear Brothers and Sisters, we cannot afford to use the world's methods to win the world. Please stop the movie producing. ~ Blessings!

The greatest and the most effective way to evangelize people around us is by following the methods Christ showed us to follow.

I don't see how The Record Keeper in any way reflects Christ's method of evangelism. Christianity is supposed to offer the world something different and life-changing aka the Gospel, not an imitation of what the world already has plenty of aka entertainment.

Evangelism: yes ... but not this way. What would Jesus do? Would he produce such a movie or be with the persons who really need the help?

I seen a little of a scene where lucifer was incarnated and was yelling and shoving. No truth nor the actions of Jesus.

to the wind with theatrical performance, its time to win souls by primitive godliness, Christ method alone.

Our leaders MUST allow the holy spirit and God's grace take lead in the Church of Christ. Otherwise taking us your way doesnt edge out even an inch of our faith in Christ! Mr. Director, your title doent guarantee you to mislead the flock. Learn authentically from Christ.

I am a young person and I know that this is not the way to reach them, we need to reach them with truth presented in a practical way showing how it can change and convict us of sin and of righteousness, not how we can entertain ourselves… we might as well watch a real movie… Ellen White clearly states that we should have nothing to do with theatrics, and not one jot or title of it should enter into our out reach…

I truly believe that the enemy is trying to mix error with truth and it seems right. But thank God for the remnant that is studying Gods word and not Adventist word, We as a Church need to stand on the true Witness,the message of righteousness by faith so that we can have His faith for this trying time. I hope that this petition give all Gods people who only want to serve him courage that our Savior soon return is close. I have seen the trailers and previews for this series and it is fictionalizing and trivia
Icing the Great Controversy. When I saw it, if I had not known it was supposed to,be about the book, I would not have put the two together.

We have been warned by the Spirit of Prophecy, not to use theatrics in evangelism, and this is not acceptable. Not only is isn't theatrics, but it is following the world in the way it portrays truth, mixing it with speculation and error.

"—Those who do the work of the Lord in the cities must put forth calm, steady, devoted effort for the education of the people. While they are to labor earnestly to interest the hearers, and to hold this interest, yet at the same time they must carefully guard against anything that borders on sensationalism. In this age of extravagance and outward show, when men think it necessary to make a display in order to gain success, God’s chosen messengers are to show the fallacy of spending means needlessly for effect. I believe that making the decision to cancel The Record Keeper is a wonderful step in getting us back to where we need to be as Seventh-day Adventists during the closing hours of the worst thing that has ever happened in God's great universe. It's time to go home not entertain the world with cheap imitation of itself.

i found this appalling not spiritual the spirit of God could not be with this style production God moves in a sweet holy moving manner and this is totally foreign and removed from the gentle moving of the Holy Spirit
